Re Nao: A Hot & Noisy Affair

February 6, 2011

10am-4pm

Come celebrate Year of the Rabbit

with us at the Garden!

The Chinese Word "Re Nao" is often used to describe the "hussle & bustle" of crowds on the street. Its literal translation is "Hot & Noisy"-- a highly desired energy that is "lively, festive & happy"!

Come check out drumming lead by Drum Syndicate, children’s lion parades, balloon twisting & face painting, DIY crafts, warm buns by Bon Chaz, coveted red envelopes given out by "gramma and gramps", mini tours of the Garden, plus stories and oddities about all things Chinese New Year told by Christianne Hayward (founder of Christianne's Lyceum of Literature and Art ).

Our friends at the Community Arts Council of Vancouver will be making rabbit ears and the Chinese Cultural Heritage Association will be on-hand to teach us traditional arts to round off a full day of "Re Nao."
